This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives. A MUST VISIT One of Tito's abandoned former summer residences in former Yugoslavia. Well hidden in the forested hills to the north-west of Croatia's top tourist draw, the Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is just 2 miles (3 km) away. Not easy to find without a guide, unless you know exactly where to go; abandoned and free. Now a crumbling ruin, heavily vandalised and looted it still has plenty of beauty-in-decay appeal! Highly atmospheric and definitely worth the detour and effort to visit. If you're with a guide, ask about the tunnel! ON LOCATION - Tito's Villa Izvor, Plitvice, Croatia
