This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives. Okay, this one is an option, but it’s great and we’re going to go with it on Mira. Advantages: Lighter Longer life-span Stronger and can actually bear the force of redirecting lines via a carabiner/shackle Allows way more water to flow through(safer) More resilient with individual Dyneema lashings instead of using one or two segments to attach Disadvantages: Added cost (approximately $5k as of this video) The rigging person will have phantom hand cramps appear when thinking of your boat
