This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives. Living in a shipyard you don't expect to see a baby turtle up close and personal but we were lucky enough to do just that when this little one turned up! While we often spot adult turtles out on the water in Chaguaramas, Scotland Bay, Gasparee and Chacachacare, and have even swum with them before in the Philippines, this was our first time watching a baby go past.

After an extended AP the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race fleet tacked their way out of Sydney Harbour in an 8-10 nor’easter. The four supermaxis, Comanche, Wild Oats XI, Black Jack and InfoTrack lead the fleet out of the Heads in the highly anticipated rematch following last year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Race.
