Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! Sailed from St, Thomas to Frederiksted... Small town on the west coast protected from the prevailing eastern winds, with Danish Colonial and Victorian architecture. We visited Fort Frederik built in 1752 by Danish monarch (occupied also by Spanish and French) and enjoyed beautiful white sandy beaches. Scuba diving with turtles in turquoise waters was fantastic...
