Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! We struggled to find a solution for changing the I16 VSD 16000 BTU AC Controls from Celsius to Fahrenheit aboard our Seawind 1260, Moments in Time. This simple process has been shrouded in secrecy at the highest level to try to force Americans into the metric system, but we won’t go without a struggle.
