To get a quote for your yacht or boat from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY And to see the podcast with Toni Clarke of Keane Specialty: https://youtu.be/l15GZ4BrgNA Buying a superyacht is one of the most exciting purchases you can make, but it's also one of the most complex. Many buyers start by looking at yachts. David Seal suggests doing the opposite. In this week's vlog, David explains how experienced buyers approach the process, beginning with how they intend to use the yacht before they ever start searching the market. He discusses why cruising plans, charter intentions, running costs and regulatory compliance should all shape the buying decision long before making an offer. The vlog also explores where to search for yachts, the advantages of working with an experienced broker, how to compare multiple yachts efficiently, and why viewing location can have a significant impact on the buying process. David explains what happens once you've found the right yacht, from making an offer and agreeing the inventory, through to signing the Memorandum of Agreement, surveys, sea trials and finally taking delivery. Whether you're considering your first yacht or adding another to your fleet, this episode offers practical advice that can help buyers avoid expensive mistakes and make better-informed decisions. Topics covered include: • Defining how you intend to use the yacht • Understanding running costs before you buy • Commercial compliance and charter considerations • Finding yachts online and working with brokers • Why viewing location matters • Making a sensible offer • Understanding the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) • Surveys, sea trials and deposit protection • Negotiating after survey findings • Preparing for yacht ownership before delivery If you are interested in becoming a yacht broker, you can learn more about the Yacht Broker Masterclass here: www.yachtbrokermasterclass.com Follow David on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/yachts_for_sale Follow us on YouTube: @Yachtsforsaleblog @YachtsforCharter @yachtbuilders And our partner channels: @FraseryachtsSuperyachtSales @NorthropJohnson @MarineMaxOnline To stay updated with everything happening at Yachts For Sale, join the free INSIDE INFO newsletter: http://www.yachtsforsaleblog.com

For More Information about SeaNet Superyacht co-ownership solutions: https://seanet.eu/ SeaNet Superyachts invited us to Viareggio to film something that very few people ever get to see: the delivery of a brand new 53 metre superyacht. This is not a normal yacht tour. It is the first episode of a four-part series following a remarkable new yacht project represented by SeaNet Superyachts, from delivery day through to the story behind her development, the co-ownership model, the 44 months of work that went into her construction, and finally her reveal before the Monaco Yacht Show. In this first episode, we show the reality of superyacht delivery. The yacht had been built at a facility in Pisa and was due to begin sea trials, but one of the lifting bridges on the canal had broken. That meant the yacht had to wait a full month before she could even leave the canal and begin the final stages of testing. By the time we arrived in Viareggio, the deadline had been set. The yacht was leaving for Malta at 4:00 p.m. on May 30th. What followed was a fascinating look behind the scenes: shipyard workers still cleaning, polishing and completing final details, crew members loading equipment and supplies late into the night, safety drills taking place on board, final technical checks being carried out, and the crew preparing for their first 39-hour passage on a brand new 53 metre yacht. We also see how the line between pre-delivery work and post-delivery warranty is drawn, why taking delivery of a yacht is nothing like collecting a new car, and how much preparation goes into turning a newly built vessel into a fully functioning superyacht. This is never-before-seen footage of the delivery of SeaNet’s new 53 metre superyacht, and the beginning of her maiden voyage from Viareggio to Malta. In this episode: A brand new 53m superyacht delivery SeaNet Superyachts’ latest project Behind the scenes at the shipyard in Viareggio The broken Pisa canal bridge that delayed sea trials Crew safety drills before departure Final cleaning, loading and technical checks The reality of superyacht handover The yacht leaving the dock under her own power The beginning of her maiden voyage to Malta This is Episode 1 of a four-part series. Episode 1: The Maiden Voyage Begins Episode 2: Building The Future Of Yacht Ownership Episode 3: 44 Months Of Custom Development Episode 4: Monaco Reveal

Built in GRP and powered by twin 1,550hp MAN engines, she reaches a top speed of 34 knots and cruises comfortably at around 22 knots. Inside, John Vickers' interior design combines rich timber finishes, elegant detailing and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The open galley remains connected to the main saloon, creating an inviting social space, while accommodation is arranged across four well-appointed guest cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite. To get a quote for your yacht or boat from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY And to see the podcast with Toni Clarke of Keane Specialty: https://youtu.be/l15GZ4BrgNA In this vlog, David explores one of the most fascinating subjects in the superyacht industry: yacht transformations. Why would an owner take an existing vessel and spend years rebuilding it instead of commissioning a brand-new yacht? At first glance it might seem like the harder route. Existing structures, older machinery, classification requirements and technical limitations can make major conversions incredibly complex. Yet some of the most remarkable yachts in the world began life as something completely different. In this video David looks at four extraordinary examples: •Ragnar – transformed from an icebreaking offshore support vessel into one of the world's most capable explorer yachts • H3 – a dramatic Oceanco rebuild that extended, modernised and completely reimagined a major superyacht • Yas – perhaps the most visually striking yacht conversion ever undertaken, created from a Dutch naval frigate • Attessa IV – a massive reconstruction project driven by one owner's determination to create a yacht that matched his vision Along the way David examines the engineering challenges, design decisions, operational advantages and practical realities behind large-scale yacht conversions. Topics include: • Commercial vessel conversions • Explorer yacht development • Major superyacht rebuilds • Naval vessel transformations • Yacht design and engineering • Sustainability and modernisation • The economics of yacht conversions • Why owners choose transformation over new build Whether you are interested in yacht design, shipbuilding, brokerage, engineering or simply enjoy extraordinary stories from the yachting world, this is a fascinating look at some of the industry's most ambitious projects. To get a quote for your vessel from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY For details of the Yacht Broker Master Class: www.yachtbrokermasterclass.com Have you ever wondered what actually happens when a superyacht is sold? Most people see the listing, the photographs, and eventually the announcement that a yacht has changed hands. What they don't see is the process behind the scenes. In this week's vlog, David Seal explains what sellers should expect when putting a yacht on the market, from choosing the right broker and setting a realistic asking price, through to marketing, negotiations, surveys, sea trials, and the final transfer of ownership. David discusses why selecting the right individual broker can be just as important as choosing the brokerage company itself, how professional marketing assets are created, and why transparency about a yacht's condition is critical to a successful sale. The vlog also explores the role of YouTube in modern yacht brokerage, how yachts are promoted internationally, what happens when a buyer is found, and why the most successful yacht brokers are often problem solvers and diplomats rather than traditional salespeople. Whether you are considering selling a yacht, buying one, or simply want to understand how brokerage works behind the scenes, this episode provides a fascinating insight into the process from start to finish. Topics covered include: • Choosing the right yacht broker • Understanding yacht valuations and market pricing • Preparing a yacht for sale • Photography, video and marketing strategy • MLS platforms and broker networks • Negotiations and offers • Deposits, surveys and sea trials • Managing survey findings and price adjustments • The legal transfer of ownership • Common misconceptions about yacht brokerage • Why diplomacy matters more than salesmanship If you are interested in becoming a yacht broker, you can learn more about the Yacht Broker Masterclass here: www.yachtbrokermasterclass.com Follow David on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/yachts_for_sale Follow us on YouTube: @Yachtsforsaleblog @YachtsforCharter @yachtbuilders And our partner channels: @FraseryachtsSuperyachtSales @NorthropJohnson @MarineMaxOnline To stay updated with everything happening at Yachts For Sale, join the free INSIDE INFO newsletter: http://www.yachtsforsaleblog.com

You’ve heard the phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” — and that definitely applies to BOARDWALK. In this episode, we take a closer look at the new 384ft yacht BOARDWALK, the sixth vessel to carry this name, recently delivered to her owner, the US Ambassador to Italy. With Katia, we discuss why this latest yacht looks so similar to previous BOARDWALK builds, how this design language has evolved over time, and why this approach is unusual compared to most owners who prefer completely different yachts each time. We also look at her increased size, the influence of American yacht design such as Westport, and how different shipyards interpret familiar briefs in their own way. On board, BOARDWALK features standout details including a glass-walled engine room walkway, a watertight sliding door system connecting the beach club, and thousands of exterior lighting points that give her a striking night profile. If you’re interested in yacht ownership patterns, design repetition, and the thinking behind large custom yachts, this is a fascinating one. This vlog is sponsored by Puro Systems. To learn more about Puro Systems: https://www.purosystems.com Today we're taking a look at a Dutch shipyard that many people outside the superyacht industry may never have heard of, but which has quietly been building some remarkable yachts. Royal Hakvoort traces its roots back to 1726, making it one of the oldest shipyards in the Netherlands. Still family owned after more than a century under the Hakvoort family, the yard has built a reputation for creating fully custom yachts tailored to the wishes of individual owners. In this video, we look at the history of the shipyard, how it evolved from building fishing vessels and commercial boats into a respected superyacht builder, and some of the yachts that have helped establish its reputation, including JUST J'S, SCOUT, TOP FIVE II, MILLE and ASIA. We also discuss what it means to become a Royal shipyard in the Netherlands, why owners continue to choose Hakvoort despite strong competition from larger and more widely known builders, and the impressive 70 metre project currently under construction. If you enjoy discovering lesser-known shipyards, custom yacht construction, and the stories behind some of the world's most interesting superyachts, I think you'll find this a fascinating insight into Royal Hakvoort. For more information at PuRo Systems remarkable water purifying system for yachts: www.puro-systems.com To read the article about their product on Project Zero: https://www.marinebusinessworld.com/news/281852/PuRO-partners-with-Vitters-on-Project-Zero Today we are looking at one of the most ambitious yacht projects currently under construction: PROJECT ZERO, a 69 metre sailing superyacht being built with no diesel engines, no generators, no fuel tanks and no fossil fuel on board. At first glance, that sounds almost impossible. After all, large yachts require enormous amounts of energy, not only for propulsion but also for air conditioning, refrigeration, lighting, hot water and all the other systems needed to create a luxury environment at sea. So how can a yacht of this size operate without conventional power? In this video, David explores the technology and thinking behind PROJECT ZERO, including her use of wind power, solar energy, hydrogeneration and advanced energy storage systems. More importantly, he looks at the wider question the project is asking: not simply how yachts generate energy, but how much energy they really need in the first place. Designed by Vripack with Dykstra Naval Architects and currently under construction at Vitters Shipyard in the Netherlands, PROJECT ZERO is much more than a new yacht. It is an attempt to rethink the way energy is produced, stored and consumed on board. Whether PROJECT ZERO represents the future of superyacht design or remains a fascinating one-off experiment is open to debate. But there is little doubt that the ideas behind her will spark discussion throughout the industry. If you are interested in yacht design, sustainability, engineering innovation or the future of superyachts, this is a project well worth exploring. We actually filmed this yacht a few years ago at a boat show, but at the time she was tied to the dock. This time, we had the opportunity to take her out to sea off the coast of Dubrovnik, which I think is really the only proper way to understand a yacht like this. At first glance, she appears elegant and understated, but the deeper you look, the more impressive she becomes. BEYOND CAPRICORN has an astonishing amount of interior volume for a yacht of her size, and every part of the design feels focused on practicality, comfort and serious long-range capability. This is not a yacht designed around flashy styling or trying to impress people on the dock. It is a yacht for somebody who genuinely wants to spend long periods at sea and explore the world properly. From the huge crew spaces and practical engine room access to the enormous storage capacity and 6,000 nautical mile range, there is a very clear philosophy behind this yacht. In this walkthrough, we take you through the guest accommodation, bridge, engine room, crew areas, sundeck and exterior spaces while also explaining why BEYOND CAPRICORN feels so different from many yachts of a similar size. If you enjoy explorer yachts, practical yacht design and yachts built with genuine cruising capability in mind, I think you will find this a fascinating tour. To get a quote for your yacht or boat from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY And to see the podcast with Toni Clarke of Keane Specialty: https://youtu.be/l15GZ4BrgNA Is yachting actually dangerous? It’s a question that tends to surface whenever dramatic footage appears online, fires, groundings, collisions, yachts making headlines for all the wrong reasons. But what does that really tell us about the industry as a whole? In this episode, we step back from the noise and look at the bigger picture behind yacht safety. Not boating, but yachting. The world of professionally run vessels, trained crew, structured procedures, and serious ownership standards. We look at how incidents are reported and why visibility often distorts perception. We also compare large yacht operations with other transport industries and consider what the available data actually suggests about risk at this level. Along the way, we touch on what really matters onboard: crew experience, maintenance, decision-making, and the relationship between owner and captain. If you are thinking about yacht ownership, or simply follow the industry closely, this is a useful lens through which to view the conversation. China is already a major force in engineering, manufacturing, electric vehicles, battery technology, drones and shipbuilding. But what about yacht building? In this vlog, I take a closer look at what is happening in China’s yacht industry, from established Chinese builders such as Cheoy Lee, Heysea and Kingship, to international yacht brands that are building in mainland China. Some of the names may surprise you. We look at explorer yachts, GRP production yachts, power catamarans, long-range vessels, and the increasing role China is playing in the global yachting market. We also discuss brands such as Nordhavn and SilverYachts, and why Chinese yacht construction may become an increasingly important part of the industry in the years ahead. Chinese yachts are here. The question is: how big will they become? This vlog is sponsored by Keane Specialty Insurance. Could yachts really become cheaper than cars? In this conversation, Katia and I discuss the surprising story of JD.com founder Richard Liu and his reported plan to build affordable, green yachts in China through a new venture called Sea Expandary. Reports suggest the aim is to produce boats at around $14,000, with a major investment behind the project and a focus on making boating accessible to ordinary salaried workers. But is that really possible? And are we talking about yachts, or should we really be calling them boats? We also discuss why boating remains so expensive in places like the UK, whether China could use scale and manufacturing capacity to open boating up to a much wider audience, and why you do not need a superyacht to enjoy life on the water. Also in this episode: A major lawsuit involving Below Deck and NBC Universal, with former cast member Emile Kotze reportedly seeking damages over allegations relating to his time on the show. NBCUniversal has denied wrongdoing and the case is ongoing. The first look inside BREAKTHROUGH, Feadship’s 118.8 metre hydrogen fuel cell superyacht, including her remarkable owner’s area and underwater lounge. A viewer question about why sailing yacht hulls are shaped differently to motor yacht hulls, and whether it would be possible to create a proper beach club on a sailing yacht. And finally, we talk about what we have been filming recently, what is coming up on the Yachts For Sale channel, and the launch of our new Yacht Podcasts channel, where Katia and I discuss what happens behind the scenes on our yacht video shoots. We are looking at two. ZARKAVA and VALYRA are two extraordinary 27 metre Hodgdon superyachts, both built in carbon fibre, both powered by triple MAN V12 engines and Kamewa waterjets, and both created with one very clear purpose: to go incredibly fast while remaining unusually quiet and comfortable on board. Commissioned by His Highness the Aga Khan, these yachts reflect a very particular vision of yachting. Speed was important, of course, with ZARKAVA reportedly capable of around 60 knots in the right conditions, but so was comfort. These were not simply fast boats. They were highly considered, technically advanced yachts designed to combine performance, refinement and serious engineering. Built by Hodgdon Yachts in the USA, with naval architecture by Donald L. Blount, exterior styling by Pininfarina and interiors by Redman Whiteley Dixon, ZARKAVA and VALYRA are pure custom builds with a remarkable pedigree. In this tour, Katia takes you on board ZARKAVA first, looking at the deck spaces, helm area, saloon, cabins, crew accommodation and engine room, before also showing you VALYRA and explaining how the two yachts compare. If you enjoy rare yachts, high-speed yacht design, carbon fibre construction, waterjet propulsion, or simply want to see something genuinely unusual in the brokerage market, this is a very special video. To get a quote for your yacht or boat from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY You can read about an Outer Reef owner's experience with his parrots here: https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/cruising-and-chartering/nautical-life-outer-reef-650/ You can see @AQUAHOLIC 's review of an Outer Reef here: https://www.yachtingmagazine.com/cruising-and-chartering/nautical-life-outer-reef-650/ And our new Podcast channel here: @YachtPodcasts In this vlog, I take a closer look at Outer Reef Yachts, a builder that many viewers have mentioned in the comments, but one that I wanted to understand in more detail. Outer Reef are known for building long-range cruising yachts, often aimed at owners who want to spend serious time on board, travel extensively, and in many cases operate the yacht themselves. So in this video I look at their range, their recent merger with Lynx Yachts in The Netherlands, and two of their most popular models: the Outer Reef 650 and the Outer Reef 700/720 Motoryacht. We look at the layouts, the unusually large galleys, the owner’s accommodation, crew space, fuel capacity, range, construction, and the type of owner these yachts appear to be built for. I also came across a wonderful story about a couple who cruised extensively on their Outer Reef 650 with two parrots on board, including a transit of the Panama Canal, which gives a fascinating glimpse into what life aboard one of these yachts can actually be like. So the question is simple: would YOU cruise the world on an Outer Reef yacht? Subscribe to Yachts For Sale for more yacht walkthroughs, brokerage insight, and honest discussion from inside the world of yachting. For more information about K+: https://www.northropandjohnson.com/yachts-for-sale/k-125-maori-yacht Contact: Edoardo.Turati@NorthropandJohnson.com +377 97 77 27 20 Gabriele.Modica@NorthropandJohnson.com +377 97 77 27 20 K+ Yacht for Sale Length - 125' 4" (38.2m) Builder - Maori Yacht Build - 2023 Guests - 10 Cabins - 5 Crew - 7 Asking Price - €14,500,000 K+ is not a yacht that quietly blends into the background. This 38.2 metre Maori flagship has one of the most distinctive profiles in the 40 metre market, with a jet black exterior, high forward freeboard, wide beam and a design that immediately makes you look twice. But the real surprise is not just how she looks. It is how cleverly she has been designed for life on board. In this full walkthrough, Katia Damborsky takes you on board K+ off the coast of Monaco to explore a yacht that feels very different from the usual raised pilothouse or widebody layout. The aft deck is open, practical and beautifully connected to the sea, with a transformer swim platform, concealed tender and toy storage, and even a secondary galley positioned exactly where guests are most likely to enjoy eating outside. Inside, K+ has been designed with a penthouse-style interior by Pulina Exclusive Interiors, with huge windows, open sightlines, a glass staircase, a marble bar and a main saloon that keeps you connected to the water on all sides. Instead of a traditional main deck master, the owner’s suite is positioned on the upper deck as a private apartment, complete with its own terrace, skylight, dressing room and beautifully finished bathroom. Delivered in 2023, K+ is the flagship Maori 125 model. She measures 38.2 metres, has a beam of 10.6 metres, 367GT of volume, accommodation for up to 10 guests in five cabins, and a top speed of 18.5 knots. She is powered by twin MAN V12 engines and is offered for sale with Northrop & Johnson at €14,500,000. If you enjoy walkthrough tours of unusual superyachts that are actually available for sale, this is a yacht you will definitely want to see.
