To get a quote for your vessel from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote/ Three classic-inspired yachts. Three very different approaches to the same idea. Sanlorenzo recently launched SHE, the first model in its new Heritage line, inspired by the classic Italian yachts of the 1960s. And it got David thinking, because this is a niche that other builders have been exploring too. In this vlog, David compares three yachts of approximately 24 metres, all with a classic aesthetic and all aimed at an owner who wants something with a little more soul than the mainstream: the Sanlorenzo SHE, the Picchiotti Gentleman 24 and the Hartman Livingstone 24. At 25.5 metres, Sanlorenzo SHE is the largest of the three. Built in GRP on a modified deep-V hull, she combines a low, restrained profile inspired by the 1960s with contemporary technology. Her exterior is by Zuccon International Project, with interiors by Piero Lissoni. The Picchiotti Gentleman 24 takes a different approach. Built entirely in aluminium with mahogany across the cap rails and trim, she arguably provides the most authentic expression of the classic idea. Her exterior styling, interior design and naval architecture are all credited to Luca Dini, giving her a remarkable coherence. Then there is the Hartman Livingstone 24, built on a steel round-bilge displacement hull with an aluminium superstructure. With four cabins for up to nine guests, a practical family layout and a raised pilothouse, she was designed for long-range family cruising rather than coastal showstopping. Performance makes their different philosophies even clearer. SHE is the fastest, reaching 20 knots and offering approximately 500 nautical miles of range at 10 knots. The Gentleman 24 reaches 19 knots and increases that range to approximately 1,800 nautical miles at 9 knots. Livingstone is slower, with an 11-knot top speed, but offers approximately 3,000 nautical miles of range at 10 knots. She isn't trying to be fast—she is built for going places the other two can't reach. The three yachts also sit at different points in the market. At the time of filming, the first Picchiotti Gentleman 24 is listed at €6.9 million, with new-build pricing quoted at approximately €8.9 million. Sanlorenzo SHE is price on application, while the original Hartman Livingstone 24, launched in 2016, is available at around €3.5 million. All three deliberately look backwards for inspiration, but underneath that shared aesthetic they are pulling in very different directions. SHE offers refinement, technology, style and speed. The Gentleman 24 brings aluminium construction, mahogany detailing and classic character. Livingstone offers four cabins, 3,000 nautical miles of range, a steel hull and the soul of a proper explorer. So, what kind of owner are you? Would you choose the elegance of SHE, the character of the Gentleman 24, or the capability of Livingstone? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below. Delivered in 2014 and most recently refitted in 2024, when she received an all-new sail wardrobe, DONA FRANCISCA was built in Uruguay by JCLM Astillero Buquebus for an experienced Uruguayan owner. Some of the world's leading composite specialists were brought in from Europe and the US for the project, which even received government support because of its scale, complexity and technical ambition. The whole project began with one very simple question from the owner: if I could build my perfect schooner, what would it look like? The result is remarkable. DONA FRANCISCA combines the appearance and romance of a classic schooner with highly advanced construction. Both her hull and superstructure are built in carbon fibre, making her one of the largest sailing yachts of her kind built using this material. The benefits go beyond weight. The carbon-fibre construction contributes to efficiency and performance while reducing corrosion concerns. Her sail handling is hydraulically assisted, she has powerful bow and stern thrusters, and despite her 52-metre length, she is handled by a crew of just five. Her exterior design by Javier Soto Acebal beautifully balances traditional sailing-yacht character with modern materials and engineering. Old-school-looking brass cowls, carbon stays and a slender profile preserve the spirit of a classic schooner without compromising the advantages of modern construction. Inside, the yacht continues that philosophy. The interior is described as Edwardian in style, with inspiration drawn from the traditional British social clubs that once existed in Buenos Aires. Polished mahogany, bronze detailing, glass lamps and painted white ceilings create an atmosphere that feels authentic rather than theatrical. The owner's accommodation continues the same design language, combining rich timber and traditional details with the headroom, integrated storage and practicality expected from a modern yacht. An additional office provides useful flexibility and could serve as a study, dressing room or potentially be converted for another purpose. Three further guest cabins continue the warm, traditional character of the yacht, while the generous galley reflects the kind of serious cruising DONA FRANCISCA was designed to undertake. When crossing oceans rather than simply moving between marinas, storage, refrigeration and practical workspace become particularly important. Her low engine hours tell another part of the story. Powered by a single Caterpillar engine, she has logged only around 1,700 hours, despite having crossed from South America to the Mediterranean under her own power. As Katia explains, those numbers suggest a yacht that has genuinely been sailed rather than simply motored from one anchorage to another. Ultimately, DONA FRANCISCA isn't trying to recreate history. She captures the essence and romance of traditional sailing without asking her owner to compromise on performance, comfort or practicality. For someone looking for a modern schooner with genuine character and a proven legacy of adventure and exploration, DONA FRANCISCA offers something very different. Contact the broker – Daria POP: https://www.fraseryachts.com/en/offices-and-people/monaco-yacht-brokerage/sales-and-purchase/sales-broker/daria-pop/ VANADIS Yacht for sale Length – 31.2m / 102'6" Built – 2019 Gross Tonnage – 187 GT Hull & Superstructure – Aluminium Top Speed – 13 knots Cruising Speed – 12 knots Range – 2,700 nautical miles at 10 knots Today we're on board VANADIS, a 31.2-metre yacht built by Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN), and one that turned out to be far more interesting than David initially expected. At first glance, VANADIS may look like a relatively conventional 100-foot white yacht. But after learning more about her design, construction and particularly her propulsion system, it quickly became clear that this is no ordinary yacht. Built in 2019, VANADIS has a full-displacement aluminium hull with a bulbous bow and an aluminium superstructure. Her hull uses an aluminium-magnesium alloy, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and its welding characteristics. She is powered by two CAT C9.3 380hp engines and has a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 13 knots. The owner and his family had already owned several vessels before building VANADIS and knew exactly what they wanted. One priority was a large sun deck, and VANADIS certainly delivers. There is an enormous bar, plenty of seating, an electric sun awning, another removable awning and a grill area designed for relaxed time on board with family and friends. Inside, the yacht feels elegant, light and considerably larger than David expected. The layout was carefully adapted to make better use of the available space, while the galley benefits from an unusual but very practical position. The pilothouse is also particularly well equipped, with doors leading directly to the side decks and wing stations on both sides. The accommodation was designed around the owner's preference for three generously sized cabins rather than trying to maximise the number of guests. The full-beam owner's stateroom is spacious and beautifully appointed, with large windows, a sofa area, walk-in closet and a well-proportioned bathroom. But the most fascinating part of VANADIS is her hybrid propulsion system. Two variable-speed generators provide power to a bus bar, which distributes that power wherever it is required, including to the electric motors used for propulsion. The system is designed so that the generators respond to the yacht's actual power requirements rather than continually producing the same amount of power. The shafts can also generate power that is fed back into the system. For the owner, this translates into better fuel economy and greater range. VANADIS can achieve approximately 2,700 nautical miles at 10 knots, while her rotating propulsion pods also allow the yacht to turn on herself, move sideways or maintain position using the dynamic positioning system. David admits that he completely misjudged VANADIS before stepping aboard. What initially appeared to be a relatively conventional yacht revealed itself to be something quite unique and exceptional, combining thoughtful design, quality materials and an intelligent propulsion system. If you're seriously interested in VANADIS, contact the Broker Daria Pop via the link in the description. Follow Yachts For Sale Blog: https://www.instagram.com/yachtsforsaleblog/. Subscribe to The Yacht Podcast for more conversations about the yacht industry: https://www.youtube.com/@TheYachtPodcast In this video, we explore five of the most remarkable superyacht refits of recent years and ask an important question: why is the refit market growing so quickly? According to the Worth Avenue Yachts 2024 Refit Market Report, spending on refitting yachts over 30 metres has now exceeded €2.8 billion, up 15% on the previous year. As new-build delivery times continue to stretch and costs continue to rise, more owners are discovering that a well-executed refit can rival a brand-new yacht—often in less time and at significantly lower cost. From the extraordinary transformation of MOONSTONE, the extensive rebuild of STARFIRE, the careful preservation of SEAWOLF, the complete reinvention of LADY ESTHER, and the performance-focused evolution of RAVAGER, this video explores five very different projects that demonstrate just how ambitious the refit market has become. Along the way, we also examine why returning to the original shipyard can be such an advantage, how inherited knowledge can influence the outcome of complex projects, and why sustainability is becoming an increasingly important reason for owners to choose a refit over a new build. Combining timeless craftsmanship with long-range cruising capability, this 46.3-metre motor yacht has been meticulously maintained and extensively upgraded, making her one of the most compelling brokerage opportunities currently available. In this walkthrough, Katia takes you on board to discover what makes AMICA MEA such a special yacht. From the beautifully executed stainless steel and handcrafted joinery to the thoughtful layout created by Glade Johnson Design, every area reflects the philosophy that great yachts should be built to be lived in, not simply admired. The tour explores the yacht's spacious main saloon, impressive formal dining area, exceptionally well-equipped galley and one of the most remarkable full-beam owner's suites in her class. Katia also highlights the extensive storage throughout the yacht, the generous bridge deck, expansive sundeck with Jacuzzi, and the practical design features that make AMICA MEA equally suited to private cruising and a successful charter programme. Below deck, four additional guest cabins accommodate up to 11 guests, while thoughtfully designed crew accommodation for nine crew members supports long-range cruising in complete comfort. The walkthrough also explores the yacht's technical spaces, toy storage, engine room and the substantial technical programme completed between 2023 and 2025, together with the successful completion of her 20-year Lloyd's Register survey. Designed by Vripack Naval Architects, built in steel and aluminium by Royal Hakvoort, and offering a transatlantic range of approximately 4,700 nautical miles, AMICA MEA is a yacht built for owners who value craftsmanship, capability and enduring quality. Rather than chasing trends, she represents a timeless approach to yacht design—one that continues to stand the test of time. To get a quote for your vessel from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote/ Learn more about the Worldwide Superyacht Open Day (WOSA): www.wosa.co.uk Do not miss this video: https://youtu.be/Crnehu3QA9k?si=JuD3sSLl2RFn2uHX Support vessels, often called shadow yachts, have become one of the fastest-growing segments of the superyacht industry. Once reserved for only the very largest private fleets, they are now becoming an increasingly important part of how serious owners plan and operate their yachts. In this video, David explores why support vessels have evolved from a niche concept into an essential part of modern superyacht ownership. From carrying tenders, submarines, helicopters and expedition equipment to supporting scientific research, helicopter operations and global exploration, these remarkable vessels dramatically expand what owners can do on the water. David also examines some of the industry's most remarkable support vessels, including Damen Yachting's YS53 series, Bad Company Support, Five Oceans, Emotional and Rafter. He looks at Abeona, the 75-metre custom support vessel built by Damen Yachting to accompany Jeff Bezos' Koru, the world's largest sailing yacht built by Oceanco. The video also features Hodor, the famous support vessel to LONIAN, Gene Chaser, transformed into a floating scientific research laboratory by Dr. Jonathan Rothberg, and Wayfinder, the innovative support vessel originally developed alongside Breakthrough, the hydrogen-powered superyacht project. Along the way, David explains why support vessels have become increasingly important as owners cruise further afield and demand greater capability from their fleets. From the Incat Crowther ShadowCat concept and Nebula's enormous helicopter hangar to expedition cruising, scientific research and adventure sports, support vessels are no longer simply an optional extra—they are becoming an essential part of modern superyacht ownership. As David concludes, the question may no longer be whether a support vessel adds value, but whether today's most ambitious owners can achieve everything they want without one. To get a quote for your vessel from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote/ To download the SuperYacht Times Asia-Pacific Report 2026: https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/asia-pacific-superyacht-report-2026 Last week, we explored the extraordinary cruising grounds that make Asia one of the most captivating regions on earth for superyachts. Stunning destinations, however, are only part of the equation. For years, the real obstacle was accessibility. Today, that picture is changing. Asia's spectacular cruising grounds have never been in doubt. The real question has always been whether the region could overcome the regulatory and infrastructure challenges that once discouraged many superyacht owners and charter operators. Today, that picture is changing rapidly. In this video, we explore how countries across the Asia-Pacific region are making themselves more accessible to superyachts. From Japan's landmark regulatory reforms—including the Nikosen cruising permit—and the development of Kobe, the country's first purpose-built superyacht marina, to Thailand's national investment in marina infrastructure, we examine the progress that is reshaping one of the world's most exciting cruising regions. We also look at developments across Indonesia, the Maldives, Langkawi, the Andaman Islands and Singapore, highlighting both the opportunities and the challenges that remain. While infrastructure still has some way to go before matching the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, investment, regulatory reform and growing industry confidence suggest the region is moving in the right direction. Could Asia already be the world's next major superyacht destination? Watch the video and let us know your thoughts in the comments below. More information about SeaNet Superyacht co-ownership solutions: https://seanet.eu/ Last month, we showed you something that very few people ever get to witness: the delivery of a brand new 53 metre superyacht. But behind that delivery lies a much bigger story. SeaNet Superyachts has spent years refining a model that is changing the way many successful yacht owners think about ownership itself. During our voyage from Viareggio to Malta, I sat down with SeaNet founder Matty Zadnikar to understand how the company has evolved over the past six years, why its co-ownership model continues to grow, and how SeaNet has quietly built one of the industry's most respected yacht and crew management operations. This isn't simply a discussion about sharing the cost of a yacht. We explore why many of SeaNet's owners could easily afford to own a superyacht outright, yet deliberately choose co-ownership instead. Matty explains why the model appeals to experienced businesspeople, how ownership structures are organised, how usage is allocated, and why a one-third share has become what he calls the "sweet spot" for balancing flexibility with financial efficiency. The conversation then moves behind the scenes of what has become SeaNet's core business. Managing a fleet of large superyachts requires far more than recruiting crew. We discuss the systems, departments and processes SeaNet has developed to oversee every aspect of yacht operations, from HR and crew development to technical management, hospitality, maintenance and financial control. Having spent time on several SeaNet yachts over the years, one thing has consistently stood out to us: the quality of the crews. Matty explains how careful recruitment, continuous training, internal career progression and long-term investment in people have created a standard of service that owners experience across the fleet, while also revealing how crews are involved in a new build long before the yacht is delivered. Whether you're curious about superyacht co-ownership, interested in yacht management, or simply want to understand what really happens behind the scenes of operating a modern superyacht, this conversation offers a fascinating insight into one of the industry's most innovative companies. In this episode: • How SeaNet's co-ownership model works • Why wealthy owners are choosing shared ownership • How yacht shares are structured and managed • The real cost of owning a superyacht • Why one-third ownership is often the ideal solution • Building a professional yacht and crew management company • Recruiting, training and retaining exceptional crew • Preparing a new build for delivery and operation • How SeaNet manages every aspect of yacht ownership from A to Z This is Episode 2 of our four-part SeaNet Superyachts series. Episode 1: The Maiden Voyage Begins Episode 2: Building The Future Of Yacht Ownership Episode 3: 44 Months Of Custom Development Episode 4: Monaco Reveal

In this video, David Seal explores some of the region's most compelling cruising grounds, from Thailand and Indonesia to Japan, the Maldives and beyond. Using data from the @Superyacht Times Asia Pacific Report 2026, he looks at the growth in superyacht activity across the region and explains why more owners and charterers are beginning to discover what Asia has to offer. Rather than focusing on regulations and infrastructure, this first part concentrates on the destinations themselves. From the dramatic limestone islands of Thailand and the extraordinary marine biodiversity of Raja Ampat to Japan's unique cruising grounds and the growing appeal of the Maldives, David explains why these destinations deserve far more attention from the global yachting community. The video also considers the practical realities of cruising in Asia, including climate, distances between destinations and the importance of local knowledge, before looking ahead to the second part of the series, which will examine the investment, infrastructure and government initiatives shaping the future of superyachting across the region. To get a quote from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY Luxury hotel brands are entering the yachting world in a way that would have seemed unlikely only a few years ago. Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Orient Express and Aman have all launched, or are preparing to launch, their own luxury yachts, offering guests access to many aspects of the yachting lifestyle without asking them to charter an entire vessel. In this week's vlog, David Seal looks at this fascinating new sector of the industry and asks what happens when some of the world's best-known luxury hotel brands bring their hospitality experience to sea. The vlog begins with the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, including Evrima, Ilma and Luminara, before moving on to Four Seasons I, Orient Express Corinthian and Amangati, Aman's first luxury yacht currently under construction in Italy. Along the way, David explores the shipyards behind these remarkable vessels, the emphasis on generous guest space, exceptional crew-to-guest ratios and the way these yachts blur the line between luxury cruising and private yachting. The discussion also considers whether hotel-branded yachts are really competing with private yachts or whether they are creating an entirely new category of luxury travel. Ultimately, these vessels are not trying to replace private yachts. They offer something different: access to the destinations, service and atmosphere associated with yachting, but in a format designed for individual travellers rather than a single owner or charter party. This week on the Yachts For Sale Blog channel, David Seal and Katia Damborsky discuss some of the biggest talking points in the yachting industry. They begin with Ulyssia, the 320-metre residential yacht currently under construction in China, and ask a simple question: should residential yachts really be called yachts? The discussion looks at what makes Ulyssia different from both a cruise ship and a traditional superyacht, and whether projects like this represent the future of luxury living at sea. David and Katia also talk about Graeme Hart's rebuilt support vessel U81, the new Sea Rover concept, which has been designed around health and wellbeing, and why owners sometimes sell custom yachts only a few years after taking delivery. As always, they answer questions from viewers, respond to comments left on previous episodes, and share a few updates about what's happening behind the scenes, including upcoming yacht shoots and the Alia Yachts documentary series. If you enjoy hearing opinions on what's happening in the superyacht industry, not just yacht walkthroughs, we think you'll enjoy this week's vlog. Many of the world's finest superyachts are built by shipyards that didn't begin by building yachts at all. Long before they entered the luxury yacht market, they were building commercial vessels, tugs, offshore support ships, patrol boats, research vessels and other craft designed to work in some of the toughest conditions at sea. So, what happens when that shipbuilding experience is applied to superyachts? In this week's vlog, David Seal looks at five fascinating examples: Italian Vessels, Ocean King, Damen, Cheoy Lee and Freire. Each has a different history, but all share a background in commercial shipbuilding before moving into the world of luxury yachts. Along the way, David explores how commercial experience has influenced the design, construction and capability of these yachts, from robust steel and aluminium explorer yachts to some of the largest custom superyachts afloat today. The vlog also features examples such as Cheyenne, VAYUS, Ocean Angel, La Datcha, Pink Shadow, NIA, Ocean Explorer and Renaissance, illustrating how these shipyards have successfully combined commercial expertise with luxury yacht building. Whether you're interested in explorer yachts, shipbuilding, or simply want to understand why some yacht builders have such strong engineering reputations, this episode provides an interesting look at an important part of the superyacht industry. Topics covered include: • Why some of the best yacht builders started as commercial shipyards • Italian Vessels and the story behind Cheyenne • Ocean King's commercial roots and the VAYUS explorer yacht • Damen Yachting, Amels, Xplorer and Yacht Support vessels • Cheoy Lee's shipbuilding heritage and CL Yachts • Freire and the move from research vessels to superyachts • How commercial shipbuilding influences yacht design and construction • Steel and aluminium construction for long-range cruising • Why explorer yachts continue to grow in popularity • The advantages of commercial engineering in the luxury yacht market Follow David on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/yachts_for_sale Follow us on YouTube: @Yachtsforsaleblog @YachtsforCharter @yachtbuilders And our partner channels: @FraseryachtsSuperyachtSales @NorthropJohnson @MarineMaxOnline For details of the Yacht Broker Masterclass: www.yachtbrokermasterclass.com To stay updated with everything happening at Yachts For Sale, join the free INSIDE INFO newsletter: http://www.yachtsforsaleblog.com

He discusses why cruising plans, charter intentions, running costs and regulatory compliance should all shape the buying decision long before making an offer. The vlog also explores where to search for yachts, the advantages of working with an experienced broker, how to compare multiple yachts efficiently, and why viewing location can have a significant impact on the buying process. David explains what happens once you've found the right yacht, from making an offer and agreeing the inventory, through to signing the Memorandum of Agreement, surveys, sea trials and finally taking delivery. Whether you're considering your first yacht or adding another to your fleet, this episode offers practical advice that can help buyers avoid expensive mistakes and make better-informed decisions. For More Information about SeaNet Superyacht co-ownership solutions: https://seanet.eu/ SeaNet Superyachts invited us to Viareggio to film something that very few people ever get to see: the delivery of a brand new 53 metre superyacht. This is not a normal yacht tour. It is the first episode of a four-part series following a remarkable new yacht project represented by SeaNet Superyachts, from delivery day through to the story behind her development, the co-ownership model, the 44 months of work that went into her construction, and finally her reveal before the Monaco Yacht Show. In this first episode, we show the reality of superyacht delivery. The yacht had been built at a facility in Pisa and was due to begin sea trials, but one of the lifting bridges on the canal had broken. That meant the yacht had to wait a full month before she could even leave the canal and begin the final stages of testing. By the time we arrived in Viareggio, the deadline had been set. The yacht was leaving for Malta at 4:00 p.m. on May 30th. What followed was a fascinating look behind the scenes: shipyard workers still cleaning, polishing and completing final details, crew members loading equipment and supplies late into the night, safety drills taking place on board, final technical checks being carried out, and the crew preparing for their first 39-hour passage on a brand new 53 metre yacht. We also see how the line between pre-delivery work and post-delivery warranty is drawn, why taking delivery of a yacht is nothing like collecting a new car, and how much preparation goes into turning a newly built vessel into a fully functioning superyacht. This is never-before-seen footage of the delivery of SeaNet’s new 53 metre superyacht, and the beginning of her maiden voyage from Viareggio to Malta. In this episode: A brand new 53m superyacht delivery SeaNet Superyachts’ latest project Behind the scenes at the shipyard in Viareggio The broken Pisa canal bridge that delayed sea trials Crew safety drills before departure Final cleaning, loading and technical checks The reality of superyacht handover The yacht leaving the dock under her own power The beginning of her maiden voyage to Malta This is Episode 1 of a four-part series. Built in GRP and powered by twin 1,550hp MAN engines, she reaches a top speed of 34 knots and cruises comfortably at around 22 knots. What makes this yacht stand out is not simply her performance, but the way Sunseeker has maximised every part of the available space. Inside, John Vickers' interior design combines rich timber finishes, elegant detailing and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The open galley remains connected to the main saloon, creating an inviting social space, while accommodation is arranged across four well-appointed guest cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite. To get a quote for your yacht or boat from Keane Specialty Insurance: https://keanespecialty.com/get-a-quote?pid=DSY And to see the podcast with Toni Clarke of Keane Specialty: https://youtu.be/l15GZ4BrgNA In this vlog, David explores one of the most fascinating subjects in the superyacht industry: yacht transformations. Why would an owner take an existing vessel and spend years rebuilding it instead of commissioning a brand-new yacht? At first glance it might seem like the harder route. Existing structures, older machinery, classification requirements and technical limitations can make major conversions incredibly complex. Yet some of the most remarkable yachts in the world began life as something completely different. In this video David looks at four extraordinary examples: •Ragnar – transformed from an icebreaking offshore support vessel into one of the world's most capable explorer yachts • H3 – a dramatic Oceanco rebuild that extended, modernised and completely reimagined a major superyacht • Yas – perhaps the most visually striking yacht conversion ever undertaken, created from a Dutch naval frigate • Attessa IV – a massive reconstruction project driven by one owner's determination to create a yacht that matched his vision Along the way David examines the engineering challenges, design decisions, operational advantages and practical realities behind large-scale yacht conversions. Topics include: • Commercial vessel conversions • Explorer yacht development • Major superyacht rebuilds • Naval vessel transformations • Yacht design and engineering • Sustainability and modernisation • The economics of yacht conversions • Why owners choose transformation over new build Whether you are interested in yacht design, shipbuilding, brokerage, engineering or simply enjoy extraordinary stories from the yachting world, this is a fascinating look at some of the industry's most ambitious projects.
