After sailing from the Russel Islands, we’re now on our way to the stunning Mary Island, properly known as Mborokua. An uninhabited, jungle-covered, extinct volcano, lying exposed in open water between Russell Islands and Marovo Lagoon. We were unsure what to expect, and we were in for a surprise when our anchorage turned out to be our most dangerous yet, somewhere once upon a time we wouldn’t have dared sail into.
