A huge run of bad luck for Avalon. We leave for our first overnight passage and were forced to learn a series of lessons the hard way. Having to choose between heading into a thunder storm with 40 knots of breeze in irons, or ducking in to a bay and dropping anchor in a former World War II minefield.
