whale watching in Baja Mexico

During our stay in Mexico we went to Magdalena Bay, which is frequented by grey whales. In the US and Canada there are very strict laws about how close to whales you can get. Which is why we often get a better view from our house on Saturna than from a whale watching boat, check my other videos for proof. But that is not the case in Mexico, where you get as close as you dare. Actually it is counter productive as the whales usually just dive when you get too close, so we took lots of photos of tails. Of course, as in Canada, rival tour operators race each other to the whales to get the best views. Eventually we found a young grey whale that stayed around long enough to film. We have had close encounters before, especially from bottlenose dolphins who have deliberately hit my boat, so this was as close as we want to be to a 20ft whale.
