We BROACH our Yacht! | Sailing Aequus - Episode 3

We go on an exciting mini adventure for 5 days for New Years Eve with @RyanSophieSailing on our yacht sailing Aequus, alongside@thelastpirate on Mikes beautiful Hanse 575 (Ellipsis). Our last sail of 2020 pretty much summed up the year most people have had... LOUSY!!! In the space of 6 hours we had sunshine, rain, fog, no wind, too much wind and about 5 different squalls that passed through which made a challenging sail to say the least. We had a reef in the main but one squall caught us off guard and a particularly nasty gust caused us to broach (round up). After a particularly stormy and rocky night celebrating NYE on the deserted island of Klein Curacao we received a weather update and things were about to get worse..
