Walkthrough of a Beautiful 2003 Mainship Pilot 34 Down East Boat

1,546 Bekeken· 13/03/21

The #Mainship Pilot 34 has the timeless design of the Down East lobster boat. It is a great example of the craftsmanship of New England #shipbuilding. Delivers a great coastal cruising boat, comfortable and efficient. The design has a sharply upswept sheerline and low-profile trunk cabin. It’s a simple, utilitarian scheme that gets the job done. The simplicity of the this boat design appeals to a wide range of buyers looking for a comfortable, yet back-to-basics approach to boating. Has ample headroom below decks and provides comfortable accommodations. The cabin of the Pilot 34 is separated into two living spaces, but the areas can be brought together if desired. The bulkhead separating the main saloon amidships from the berth area forward contains two sets of bi-fold, louvered panels. The cabin door can be opened to create a continuous flow of space through the cabin. The forward V-berth can handle a six-footer, with length to spare. The dining area settee seats four, with plenty of elbow room. It converts to a genuine double berth. The galley is located to port. Standard amenities include an electric two-burner stove, an AC/DC refrigerator, a microwave oven and a coffee maker. This design makes effective use of space for storage. Abaft the galley is a molded fiberglass head. A built-in vanity with a Corian countertop, a power ventilator and a VacuFlush toilet are included as standard features. Entertainment comes in the form of a 13 inch TV/VCR combo mounted on a swivel platform in the forward cabin. It’s positioned near one of the louvered bulkhead openings, so it can be viewed from the saloon as well. An AM/FM single-CD player (with speakers in the cabin and cockpit) is included with the boat, or you can opt for a second audio system mounted at the helm. This soft top version includes a canvas top covers the helm and forward cockpit seating area. Side curtains are included to completely enclose you from the weather. Seating is generous on the Pilot 34. A pair of extra wide bench seats faces forward and another pair of benches, facing sideways, is just behind them. These can convert to additional sleeping space by lifting a panel in the base of the forward facing seats. It makes a great place for sleeping under the stars. The engine compartment is accessible through a hydraulically assisted hatch in the center of the forward cockpit deck. Access for engine maintenance is excellent. There is also a generator on this vessel. This boat reached top speed of 22.5 mph with great fuel economy. Steering is tight and responsive at all speeds. The hull design of the Pilot 34 incorporates a sharp entry to cut through and smooth out head seas. As it moves aft, the hull cross-section flattens to provide roll stability. The ride is quite well-mannered. Driving the Mainship Pilot 34 takes you back to a time when boating was a bit different from what it has become today. Even at top speed, you’ll be in the wakes of many other boats — but you won’t get beaten up. For information, please contact Jose Torres at 727-453-8651 or jose.torres@masseyyacht.com
