🇫🇷 // À mi-chemin entre les Açores et le Portugal, c’est avec beaucoup d’émotions que Conrad revient à l’endroit où il avait démâté en 2016, alors qu’il lui restait seulement 3% du chemin à parcourir jusqu’à la ligne d’arrivée : « j’étais dévasté ». Heureusement, jamais à court de ressources, notre crazy Kiwi n’avait pas baissé les bras et s’était construit un gréement de fortune qui lui avait permis de terminer, 10 jours plus tard, son premier tour du monde. Il devenait ainsi le premier marin à franchir la ligne d’arrivée du Vendée Globe… sans mât ! 🇳🇿🇺🇸 // Halfway between the Azores and Portugal, it was with great emotion that Conrad returned to the place where he dismasted in 2016, with just 3% of the way to the finish line: ‘I was devastated…’ Fortunately, never short of resources, our crazy Kiwi didn't give up and built himself a makeshift rig that enabled him to complete his first circumnavigation 10 days later. He thus became the first sailor to cross the finish line of the Vendée Globe... without a mast!
