In certain places cruisers have a difficult time finding somewhere to refill their cooking gas bottles. We use less cooking gas with an electric hob. Cooking with an electric hob when shore power is available doesn't create excess condensation inside the boat during the cooler months, when you're more likely to be in a marina or harbour where shore power is available.
