Trinidad - Scotland Bay getaway ๐ฒ๐
Scotland Bay is a quiet little bay just around the corner from Chaguaramas Bay. We decided to go there during the week as the weekends get quite busy with speed boats. It was such a breath of fresh air being able to drop anchor and be able to paddle board and explore around the boat. Chaguaramas Bay can be turbulent to say the least, power boats and speed boats wizz around the anchorage leaving some big wakes. Scotland Bay felt like we were in a different country, we didn't realise the constant noise around us in Chaguaramas - (because it is surrounded by working ship docks) until we got to experience the peace and quiet of Scotland Bay. We didn't realise how much we missed the sound of birds in the trees and not being smashed around by the wakes. Scotland Bay has brown water but it is pretty clear, when we explored the shore line we could see far down into the water. We saw some parrot fish and puffer fish. When we got back to Chaguaramas we noticed a bird on the shore that looked like it was battling to walk. Karen, Denver and Colben went over to investigate and noticed that there wa something very wrong with him. We got ahold of a local animal rescue organisation here in Trinidad called "Wake Up Call Shelter". Wendy was so helpful and came over straight away. Unfortunately she got back to us a few days later to tell us that the pelican didn't make it but she took care of him right up to the end โค๏ธ
