TINY Drone, a FIRE and a BIG Boat Project - Highlights of our week | SAILING WAYZGOOSE WARRIOR Ep 16

We fly our tiny drone for the first time, witness a spectacular fire and start a big project on Wayzgoose. Lockdown and freezing winter days don't mean life can't get interesting! We bought a tiny little drone online and we tried to fly it for the first time. The conditions weren't ideal, it was windy and wet... but we couldn't help ourselves and gave it a go. We were too busy trying to get the hung of it so we didn't manage to get any footage. Bare with us... We might learn to drive it! 😂 The night came and as we were finishing dinner our neighbour knocked on the door to alert us about a big fire on the other side of the river Seine. It was really bright and we could see flames through the trees so we decided to go and have a look... It was after 6 and you are not supposed to be out after curfew here in France but we used the excuse of taking our neighbours dog out to go for a walk and see what was going on. Luckily it wasn't an actual fire and it was just the gas flare from the refineries across the river. The next morning surprised us with a dry and fairly warm day. Perfect to start one of our pending big projects. We are going to convert Waygoose into a Solent Rig. We'll be moving the current foresail back and replacing it with a bigger roller furling. On this episode we lay all the pieces of the new roller furling and make sure everything works and we know how to put it all together, we take some measurements and get ready for the next step.
