Spend the Day With Us in Indonesia (Surfing, Fishing & Boat Life)

Living on a sailboat in Indonesia… this is what a normal day looks like for us. ⚓️ We wake up to the sound of the ocean, surrounded by remote islands with no one else in sight. No schedule, no set plan , just the wind, the waves, and whatever the day decides to bring. This morning starts like most… slow and quiet. Coffee on deck, checking the weather, and getting ready to move. We pull up anchor, tidy up the boat, and set sail toward the next island — not fully knowing what we’ll find, but trusting the journey. Sailing through Indonesia has been nothing short of unreal. Thousands of islands, crystal clear water, and the kind of freedom we used to only dream about. But life out here isn’t just about the views… it’s about learning as we go, adapting to the ocean, and figuring things out every single day. As we sail, we drop a line in the water… not expecting much… until suddenly — we hook a fish. And just like that, dinner is sorted. Moments like this never get old. There’s something so rewarding about catching your own food out here in the middle of nowhere. After dropping sails and finding a calm place to anchor, the day is far from over. Boards out, dinghy in the water… it’s time to go surf. Some days we paddle straight from the boat, other days we explore… but today, we scored. Warm water, empty waves, and that feeling you can’t really put into words. Back on board, it’s time to prep the fish. Simple, fresh, straight from the ocean to the table. We head over to a nearby catamaran, fire up the BBQ, and end the day the best way we know how, good food, salt in our hair, and the sun setting over the ocean. It’s crazy to think that less than a year ago, we were dreaming about this life… and now this is our everyday. Living on a sailboat in our 20s isn’t always easy — there are challenges, long passages, things breaking, and moments of doubt… but days like this make it all worth it. This is why we chose this life.
