Sailing to Spain for the tapas and beer festival Vlog 51

We mix some fantastic sailing with incredible food discoveries in this episode. First we discover the joys of foodie city Alicante on mainland Spain. After that we have a wild Nikau record (12.6 knots) downwind ride to Cartegena where we discover a tapas & beers festival is on citywide - all the restaurants are offering a tapa & drink for only 2.50 euro a pop (we were able to exchange beer for wine & coke as well thankfully). We also make some new friends with a French family in the very affordable but excellent marina in Cartegena. So impressed with the history, food, culture and marinas in Spain - exceeds all our expectations!! We are the Robbins family sailing on our yacht named Nikau. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
