Sailing Saoirse - Our bimini is up! (EP 16)

Finally, our Bimini is up! after +-8 months of work on our Bimini and after a few problems we decided to tackle the job ourselves. When we started we were complete amateurs but I think we can now call ourselves "professional" painters and fairers. We couldn't possibly describe the relief we felt to finally have the Bimini out of the boat yard and onto Saoirse. The Bimini was Colbens little baby for the last 4 months and has put in many hours of work on her so he is very pleased to finally see her on Saoirse. We hoisted the Bimini up with our main halliard and lowered her down onto Saoirse. Colben and Denver clean off the underside of Saoirse where we didn't paint enough anti-foul. We had painted the anti-foul onto the yacht while she was still out of the water so had no indication of where the water line would actually be. We did paint self cleaning anti-foul onto the hulls and that cleans itself up perfectly when we do sail. We were told that self cleaning anti-foul should not be rubbed or cleaned off due to the fact that you don't want anything abrasive to scratch the paint. Meet Grumpy - our dock patrol seagull. He has quite the character and keeps our yacht free of any other seagulls.
