Sailing Off Anchor To Ten Bay Beach | Sailboat Story 54

In this vlog, we sail off anchor from Rock Sound as we travel to Ten Bay Beach in Eleuthera. One thing I've noticed, is that Bahamians know how to cook good food. Wow. Case-in-point, take this day when we went to a local's house and enjoyed an amazing home-cooked meal of chicken, ribs, peas and rice, and a veritable buffet of good, hearty, authentic Bahamian food. It was a little weird getting into Keith's car for the first time though. Whose Keith, you ask? He's a guy we met at The Market grocery store. We randomly talked with him in passing, and learned that he not only knew of our home town of Toccoa, GA, but he also taught music at a high school in Altanta. Small world! After enjoying lunch with Keith at the Taylor's house, we went for a drive around Southern Eleuthera. We saw a good bit of the island that lies between Rock Sound and Governor's Harbour. It's nice to get the lay of the land by a vehicle that rolls instead of floats - you just see so much more, so much more quickly. Soon though, it was time to up anchor and continue making our way North along the Western coast of Eleuthera. The latter half of this episode shows how we go about weighing anchor and sailing away without the assistance of the engine. It's not all that hard to do, but requires a bit of forethought, and good communication between the anchor-upper, and the helms-woman. Lastly, we'll round off the video with a nice clip showing "The Swabby" at the helm. Yep - our little Molly can steer the Sandflea, with a little supervision, of course. Ah - they grow up so fast!
