Sailing Fiji Fabulous Fulaga Eastern Lau Fabulous Fulaga - The Jewel Of The Eastern Lau We make an overnight sail from Susui towards to Fulaga to ensure we arrive at the right time to enter the narrow pass into the lagoon. We have a beautiful trip and conditions to go through the pass are perfect. We anchor in a stunning spot , close to the local village, in order to present our sevusevu. As usual, this must be done in order to get permission from the chief to move freely around the island. Each boat is allocated a local 'host' , who becomes your 'go to ' person each time you enter the village. Our host was the wonderful Tai, who was great fun and very helpful. Of course, before we could start to have fun, we have to fix our windlass. Boat jobs in paradise..... Luckily our friend Peter is an electrician , so he and Rob make quick work of the job. We then make the most of the fabulous weather and begin to explore every inch of this amazing lagoon. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second.
