It is treacherous and sailing around it is a huge challenge. We had to very carefully find good weather windows that would allow us to sail down the coast safely. And "good" is relative. They're all short and if you get stuck out at sea when the weather turns, it can be extremely dangerous. That means there is a lot of waiting involved. We got stuck in Richard's Bay for 9 days before a long enough window opened up that allowed us to sail the 90nm down to Durban. And then it was another 10 days before we got a window long enough to do the next leg down to East London. But all that waiting isn't a bad thing as it allowed us to explore parts of the amazing country of South Africa! Thanks for watching!
