A little over a year ago, after we spent 2 months in Almerimar entirely refitting Polar Seal, we made an executive decision to stop upgrade her. After installing Lithium batteries, a big 3000W inverter, a second autopilot, a watermaker, a new fridge, a new arch and davits, new solar panels... (there is more, but you get my point) Because I mean, how much money are you going to spend upgrading a Beneteau Oceanis 40 before you decide to buy another boat?  Well, at least, that's how we thought back then.  Hahaha :)  I had forgotten that I live with a nerd... who will NEVER stop upgrading the boat. So when we had to run our engine more than we thought we would be across the Atlantic, Ryan got frustrated by how little power we got out of our alternator.
