The temporary fix to the broken steering came apart, but Duke managed to remedy that at anchor in Atlantic City before setting off through the salt marshes of southern New Jersey. Father in Law Rick joined the crew for the day and had the pleasure of experiencing the first good run aground... nothing a few hours and manual effort couldn't solve! Then it was onward North through Great Bay, along Long Beach Island, through Manahawkin Bay, and finally to where Duke grew up in the Barnegat Bay.
