I’m sailing from Almere toward Lemmer in The Netherlands – the town where my love for sailing started when I was just ten years old. Now I’m back with my 27ft Grinde Loveworkx, ready for the next big chapter: my solo circumnavigation. I moor at Zeilmakerij De Vries Maritiem, the same place where I once worked at the reception desk. Today they’re making a brand new sprayhood, a rain-catching cover for the tropics, a dinghy cover, and even a cockpit hammock for better watch-keeping. Watch the whole process: measuring, bending frames, cutting fabric and the final result. It feels incredibly special to return to the place where it all began while preparing my boat for the big oceans ahead.
