Repairing our MAINSAIL with TOILET PAPER | Ep. 39 Bonus episode

We’re finally back in the water and getting our sails ready to put back on… but the condition of our main sail is pretty bad When we bought NV, we knew that one of the biggest expenses about owning a boat this size would be the cost of new sails, especially a main sail. Our mainsail is made of laminate cloth, which is a popular choice for race boats because the material keeps it’s shape well. However these sails don’t usually have a long life and are roughly double the price of a Dacron sail. Our mainsail is now over 10 years old and it’s kind of a miracle that it’s still with us. It’s definitely on it’s last legs but without the funds to get a new one yet, our old option is to try to pro-long it’s life.
