And while 47 days may seem like a lot, when you factor in a typical 5 day work week, busy schedules, and one boat partner who lives in Vermont, it doesn't leave a whole lot of boat workdays and we have a ton to do! The projects are numerous and in this episode I tackle a lazarette project and attempt to remove the forward hatch which leaked in our inaugural season in 2022. I have never removed a sailboat hatch before and was expecting a fight to the death. Our launch date is set for June 2nd with our first race on June 17th. So the heat is on! We stripped down a Yanmar to its block and reassembled it over the two-day class. I am a hands-on learner and this was perfect for me.
