Dick Durham reviews Max Liberson's book, The Boat They Laughed At. An epic Atlantic Curcuit in Gloria, a 1974 38ft concrete boat that should have been sent to the crushers rather than sailing over 4.5 k Atlantic miles. We spoke to Dick Durham on Zoom and then Max from his home in middle England. There's only one Max and there's only one book that tells about his love affair with a Ferro-cement Barbara June schooner called Gloria. Once we can get out and back to filming - we shall be sailing with Max on his new boat. An interesting chap, a real classic bloke.
