Mountain Sailing Fun

Sailing my beautiful 2010 Precision 18 sailboat with a double-reefed mainsail and a severe weather (80%) jib in heavy winds in the mountains of Colorado. In this video, I do a bunch of fast sailing, talk about weather helm, move the boat's CLR (center of lateral resistance) aft by adjusting the centerboard and barely make it past an island by reducing my leeway by lowering my centerboard to increase lateral resistance. I also demonstrate a so-called "chicken gybe," a heavy weather gybe, and try out the inadvisable technique of sailing in heavy winds dead downwind wing-on-wing.
