It's a place of surreal beauty, white sand dunes, deserted beaches, and flocks of scarlet ibis flying over turquoise lagoons. This episode follows our journey from Fortaleza to Lencois, a challenging stretch of Brazil's north coast, where relentless east to west currents and shallow seas test both us and our boat. With our autopilot "Bob' out of action, it's three nights and two days of hand steering before we find sanctuary in a remote fishing village. Once anchored, we discover a world of quiet simplicity and kindness, where fishing men's nets cross our path, and a bowl of fresh prawns becomes the perfect welcome after a tough passage.
