It would not have been the same without you. This episode was filmed in 02 / 2021. — Hey, my name is Nike and I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I change my house batteries from 2x 200amp/h AGM to 3x 100amp/h Dakota Lithium Batteries. In the Video, I explain how I calculated my daily energy consumption and how I set up my whole electrical system on my 37 foot sailboat. I split the installation of my new power system on my sailboat Karl in three parts. This is the first part in which I install my new Lithium batteries. The second part will deal with the installation of my two new Xantrex inverters and battery monitor and part three will show the installation of my four new xantrex solar panels (each 100W) So stay tuned for more electrical fun on Karl.
