Is Sailing Really Dying? I Checked the Numbers

If you’re new to sailing, you might be asking yourself: Is sailing dying? Is sailing hard? Is sailing fun? Is sailing expensive? What should I know before buying my first sailboat? Maybe you’re learning how to sail, sailboat shopping, looking for an affordable used sailboat, or wondering whether becoming a first-time sailboat owner is still worth it. There’s a lot of negativity out there about the future of sailing, but when we actually look at sailboat sales, used boats, sailing schools, youth sailing programs and participation, the story gets a lot more interesting. In this episode of Lady K Sailing, we look at whether sailing is actually dying and what the real numbers tell us. We talk about buying a used sailboat, learning to sail, choosing your first sailboat, sailing for beginners, yacht clubs, sailing schools, affordable sailboats, cruising sailboats and getting into sailing for the first time. If you’ve dreamed about owning a sailboat, cruising the Great Lakes, sailing to the Bahamas, living aboard a sailboat or simply spending your weekends on the water, don’t let somebody else’s pessimism kill the dream before you even start. Sailing is changing, but that doesn’t mean sailing is dead. There are still thousands of affordable used sailboats available, new sailors learning every year, and plenty of ways to get started without buying an expensive new yacht. Take sailing lessons. Crew on a sailboat. Go sailboat shopping. Learn what makes a good first sailboat. And when you’re ready, buy the boat and go sailing. #Sailing #Sailboat #SailingForBeginners #SailboatShopping #BuyingASailboat #LearnToSail #UsedSailboats #FirstSailboat #SailingLife #Liveaboard #CruisingSailboat #LadyKSailing Lady K Swag!!!
