Impeller Change Failure and Sea Water Pump Pulley Replacement on our Volvo Penta Marina Diesel

Not like this! If there's one lesson that comes from this maintenance blog, it's.. if it ain't broke don't fix it! I thought I'd check the impeller on a the sea water pump as part of a routine engine check.. then decided to replace it. (WHY?!) So I swapped out a perfectly good impeller and ended making a total **** up of it by leaving off the impeller cap, snapping the head off one of the housing screws, breaking one of the impeller blades and to cap it all, I noticed a nasty crack on the water pump pulley.. so needed to replace that as well :/ So a one hour boat maintenance job turned into a day long epic!
