I don't know if I will get to the starting line!!!

50 days. It's funny. People call this a solo race, but I don't think I'd be standing here without the people who've stepped in at exactly the right moments. The last week has been one of the toughest since I arrived in Europe. Every time we fixed one thing, we uncovered something else. There were definitely moments where it felt like the list was only getting longer. But that's also what this countdown is for. Every problem we find now is one less problem to discover thousands of miles from land. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone here in Guernsey who has dropped what they were doing to lend a hand, share their knowledge, or simply remind me that there are still good people everywhere you sail. The boat isn't ready yet. Neither is the checklist. But for the first time in a while, it feels like we're moving in the right direction. Fifty days sounds close. And it is. But I'll only leave that start line when I know Showgirl is ready to look after me for the next eight months.
