Hobie Compass Pedal Kayak: Hatch Upgrades and Installation

Upgrading the round 8" hatch in the cockpit of the Hobie Mirage Compass to our larger rectangular hatch will be a nice upgrade to make more storage you can easily reach from your seat. You could then move the standard 8" hatch to the bow to make even more storage or a nice place to store your fishfinder battery. Hobie's part number for the rectangular hatch is: 71707003 Part number for the rectangular hatch bucket is: 71709001 Another option would be to add the tackle management bin to hold two plano tackle boxes, part number: 71708001 This upgrade does require cutting large holes in your hull, Howie shows you how he does it but most Hobie dealers will also be willing to handle this install for you if you'd rather not tackle this install.
