Epsiode 7 - Sailing the Seawind 1160 for the Day

We had an unplanned opportunity to sail a Seawind 1160 catamaran. We had booked a 5-day charter on a Seawind 1260 but there was an electrical issue that was not resolved in time. Sail-Away Catamarans ( https://sailawaycatamarans.com/ ) offered up the Seawind 1160 for the day while an electrical specialist came to correct the issue with the 1260. So, with Captain Mike, Toni and I, and daughter Monica, we took “Go Slow” out of the South River, into the Chesapeake Bay and set sail. The winds were strong and true and there was a typical Chesapeake Bay chop. The 1160 took the conditions in stride and we had an exhilarating experience. Once we received word that the electrical issue with the 1260 was corrected, (it was an unknown circuit breaker that tripped), we headed back to Liberty Marina and transferred gear and food to the 1260, where we spent the night for an early start in the morning. We were happy to have had the chance to sail the Seawind 1160 for the day and it exceeded our expectations. It really goes to show that you need to take a boat out to round out the experience and form opinions.
