195 بازدیدها· 30/08/19

The wreck of "Le Humboldt" was eventually scuttled in 23 metres inside Dumbea Reef 9 September 1993 after much effort and problems. It was towed out 2 days previously but they made a mess of the scuttling with the stern lying on the seabed and the bow pointing up skywards. It took another 60kg of dynamite to finally send it to the bottom, and it now lies on its starboard side. The boat, a Japanese Tuna boat was originally called "Fukumaru" meaning good luck. It was then brought to New Caledonia and renamed "Humboldt" by the Socalpi company. It was decided to sink it as a wreck for divers when the company went out of business.
