This episode covers the section from Illinois to Missouri with many highlights along the way. On this leg, we found plenty of icons: the Gemini Giant, the Polk-a-Dot Drive Inn, Ambler's Texaco Gas Station, Old Route 66 Family Restaurant, Ferrari on Route 66, Standard Oil Gas Station, the Chenoa Family Restaurant, Sprague's Super Service, The Old Station, The Hen House, Chain of Rocks Canal, Gardenway Motel, Sunset Motel, Villa Ridge, Circle Inn Malt Shop, Johnnie's Restaurant and the Totem Pole Trading Post. We stayed at a few beautiful, scenic RV spots including Beaver Dam State Forest and Bennett Spring State Park.
