Ep 14 How to manage locks on the Crinan

In this weeks news we make our way up Loch Fyne to Ardrishaig, where we lock into the Crinan Canal. We spend a couple of days exploring the canal by bicycle as we have two on board. Once we have the lie of the land and have watched others transit the canal we take the plunge and head along the 9 miles of canal with 15 locks. We would highly recommend hiring a pair of hands to help with the locks if you a short handed like us, they earn their keep. This made the passage a joy rather than stressful. The views are wonderful and it cuts off having to sail all the way around the Mull peninsula. Finally, we pay up and lock out of the Crinan basin and set sail once again.
