After waiting a week for a small weather window to head south, we bash into the strong wind and waves before stopping at Red Cliff Point on Bernier Island. Finally is some calm water we find lots of sharks and rays swimming in the shallows. Waking up early to a very strong south easterly wind we crash our way over the breaking waves to deeper water escaping the exposed bay before getting shelter at Herald Bay. After several days of pounding into the waves we had an opportunity to fix a few problems in calmer water. Finally we arrive at Monkey Mia where we are disappointed to find that the dolphins are a no show. WHO ARE WE? We're Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. We are just an ordinary Aussie couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams. #sharkbay #monkeymia #circumnavigationaustralia #seawind1260 #seawindcats
