And all of a sudden that was it. A real life nightmare. I’m usually pretty calm in a crisis, but before we went to bed I was actually anxious this time. It was like my body was preparing me for what was coming, but still, you never really believe something will happen- it’s just the unknown that freaks the body out and you sort of settle with that feeling, hoping and feeling pretty certain that you’ll wake up to another day where it was all just a bad storm. I always think to myself – what is the worst that can happen – at it usually calms me down, but even knowing I’m not worried for our lives, the wake up call at 2:30 am, saying: Get up – we gotta reset! Is not what you wanna hear. And I actually didn’t. Laying there asleep next to our baby, what Cody said didn’t even sink in until a couple of minutes later, where my mind went: Wait, should I get up now? What’s going on? Why would he wake me up? Reset? Did he say reset anchor? Wait – that means running the windless. Millie will wake up. What do I do?
