Delos & Calico Livin' large off the Sea on our Private Island (Calico Skies Sailing, Ep 73)

If you had to spend 14 days "self isolating" upon entering the state of Maine, can you picture a better way to spend it than on a private island?!?! We got really lucky this past August as our friends on S/V Delos were offered the use of an island off the coast of Port Clyde, Maine. This idyllic spot became home base for evening drinks and dinner with the crew. Exactly like TTYC... except a bit more civilized with a floating dock we didn't have to burn the trash 🙃. After checking out the sweet cabin with it's gorgeous wood construction and a wide deck to hang out on we get down to the business of finding lobsters for dinner. You can't cruise Maine without at least one lobstah dinner! Keeping with the seafood theme, the next day at low tide we set out to collect mussels attached to the rocks hidden under the kelp. As a group we collect a whopping 140+ mussels. It is so fun to live off the sea. We decide to have an impromptu mussel cook-off.
