We threw out rulebook for this one, as we set about designing and building the inital structure for our new hard dodger. Until now, we haven't had any protection over the companionway, but with our sights set on Alaska next year, its time to add a bit more shelter in the cockpit. Instead of sticking to traditional straight lines and safe angles, we went 'jazzy', as Becka put it - and discovered that in design, with risk, comes reward.
