A common mistake I see sailors do is to use the rudder to counter the prop walk from the moment they engaged the reversing of the boat. That results usually the slow acceleration of the boat because of the rudder resistance and reinforce the effect of the prop walk since it needs much more rpm to achieve the maneuvering speed.
