Is it hands down a "better truck" than a comparable Chevy or Dodge? Nah. It's just the one that we found that would get the job done and that we liked. What about gas vs diesel? Is gas or diesel better to tow a fifth wheel? Short answer: if your trailer or fifth wheel is really heavy - over say 12,000 pounds, you may want to consider a diesel. They can simply tow more. Any truck can tow a trailer that doesn't weigh anything, but the best truck to tow something heavy is hands down a diesel. Should you get the best towing truck for your 1000-pound trailer?
