A Tight Squeeze On Deck, Fitting the Centerline Blocking - Episode 209 - Acorn to Arabella

Centerline blocking does one big, important thing, and it's something that's barely noticed below decks: it adds rigidity between deckbeams along the center of the deck structure fore and aft on any boat. A nice, tight fit that's pleasing to the eye from the interior of the boat is preferred, and the rabbets into which these pieces of wood fit, when regularly and lovingly executed, are barely noticed when they're done right.
