17 day of sailing solo across the Atlantic, and something changed today

Today felt different again, but in a good way. I slept really well last night. Out here there are no boats around, which makes a huge difference. No AIS alarms, no worrying about traffic, no waking up every 20 minutes to check the horizon. Just proper sleep. And I woke up with a completely different mindset. Yesterday already felt like the trip had finally started when I turned west. But today it felt like something else clicked. I’m not walking around waiting for something to happen anymore. I’m just… living out here. I’m starting to build a routine. Checking the sails. Making food. Working out. Small jobs on the boat. Watching the ocean for a bit. And it suddenly feels less like I’m “on a trip” and more like this is simply my life right now. This boat is my home. The ocean is my neighborhood. And instead of waiting for the days to pass, I’m actually filling them. Making something out of them. Living them properly. It’s a strange feeling, but a good one. I’m not waiting for the crossing to happen to me.
