13: AMAZING Hiking and Climbing ON FUSHAN IN QINGDAO 远足和攀登富山福山在青岛，中国

We live in Qingdao and the way we describe it to friends and family back home is that it's like living in Boulder, Colorado by the ocean which is a GREAT combination! We have lived here for three years and have climbed Fu many times; it is our neighborhood mountain and has many flavors and aspects depending on where you are on the mountain. The small hamlet of Qingdao, only 11M people, is broken up by mountain chains and beautiful peaks. The one that's just a 20-minute walk from our beach bungalow is Fu. It's a gorgeous mountain with the opportunity to hike, climb, climb with ropes, mountain bike and even cycle. It's about an hour to get to the peak where there are spectacular views of both the ocean and city and you can walk on the ridge for an entire day. It stretches from Shilaoren to the start of the downtown area. On the mountain, you will find local burial sites, German military tunnels, a Buddhist Temple, natural springs where Qingdaoans collect water, and numerous sports complexes (basketball, soccer, tennis, etc.). It's worth a visit to Qingdao and a trip up the mountain! So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you.
