100 Year Old Schooner Relaunched After a 4 Year Restoration - Episode 317

Back in Lewiston, Maine, Steve returns to the boathouse to assist with some last-minute work for the launch of schooner Hindu. There are very few boats along the Eastern Seaboard that have worked in the charter industry for as long as Hindu. The timing of her launch coincides with her 100th year on the water—pretty special! Josh Rowan, Erin Desmond, and the crew have spent the last 4 years in the boathouse working on Hindu, while also preserving her original spirit. Josh has been a sailor for quite some time, and fell in love with Hindu in the early 2000s. Years later, Josh and Erin took on the project of fully restoring the schooner to bring her back to the sea. After years of tireless work by the crew, it’s time to bring her back to work. Schooner Hindu gets a ride down the road to the boatyard, and Steve gets to work in the cockpit. The following day, she sets sail.
