► The Multihulls World community is already familiar with the Tricat 6.90, which we previously tested in particularly rough conditions. For this trial of the new sportier version, the breeze barely exceeded 10 knots, yet that was already enough to feel some impressive bursts of acceleration in the gusts. ► Why “XL”? Because each beam is 8" (20 cm) longer. As for the mast - an AG+ carbon profile - it gains 1’8" (50 cm), supporting a 258 sq ft (24 m²) mainsail and a 129 sq ft (12 m²) solent, while also being able to fly downwind sails from the masthead. The deck hardware has been optimized as well, with upgraded jib tracks, barber haulers, and Cunningham controls. Inside, several carbon-fiber trim panels clearly show that the weight-saving campaign is underway! This new model retains its ultra-efficient folding system - one minute per float - allowing the beam to shrink to 8' (2.45 m) for transport. ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Tricat Naval Architects: Tricat / Jack Michal Length: 22’8”/25’7” (6.9/7.8 m) Beam: 8’0”/16’5” (2.45/5 m) Draft: 11”/3’11” (0.28/1.2 m) Displacement: 1,587 lbs (720 kg) Engine: 3.5/6 hp outboard CE Category: C5/D6 Price: €95,000 excluding VAT ► www.trimaran-tricat.com ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! Before lines were drawn on maps, there was Wallace. This final episode traces the legacy of Alfred Russel Wallace — the naturalist whose observations in the Malay Archipelago changed how the world understands life, evolution, and biodiversity. Moving between landscapes, species, and subtle details, the photographs echo the curiosity that once shaped his journey. Who Is Wallace is not a biography, but a reflection — on looking closely, asking questions, and allowing nature to teach before naming it. An ending that brings the journey back to where it began: wonder. #PhotographicJournal #WhoIsWallace #AlfredRusselWallace #Wallacea #NaturalHistory #Biodiversity #IndonesiaStories #VisualJournal #natureandscience If you found this video interesting, don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE for more adventure in Indonesia through Indonesian eyes! The BGX83 redefines the flagship concept, embodying Bluegame’s owner-centric vision through increased volume and enhanced functionality. With four cabins, including a refined owner’s suite, she delivers privacy, comfort, and a constant connection with the sea through seamless indoor-outdoor living. The aft salon entrance creates a continuous flow between water and onboard spaces, while the flybridge helm station offers an elevated, open-air navigation experience with exceptional visibility. At the stern, the hydraulic platform with side openings extends the beach area into a generous terrace on the water. True to Bluegame’s pioneering spirit, the BGX83 combines pure Italian design with a seaworthy hull engineered for stability, efficiency, and long-range cruising comfort, delivering a yachting experience that rivals much larger vessels. A new definition of flagship begins here.
Also viel Spass ;)

Before leaving we figure out a very unconventional way to fill our empty water tanks... with literal bottles of drinking water. Once we're in the Gulf we catch all kinds of epic fish; Lose an engine like we do on every passage. Mary renames the boat and we talk about why we chose that name and then we stumble upon a lucky oil rig that brings many Tuna. But the craziest part of our trip was when we frantically throw all our contraband overboard because the Border Patrol is coming to search us. Oh, our crew @WhatInTheWorld_Tom almost gets banned from the U.S. because he was missing a visa, and I try my darndest not to crash into another boat again as I dock our baby in its new Texas home. This episode was an important one for us. For the first time, the boat truly started to feel like ours. We removed the old markings from the hull and installed a new aluminum plate and gave "another life" to our boat. Step by step the structure is getting closer to completion… and closer to the water. Thanks for being part of this journey 🤍 — Duca, Roberta & Oli -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Support our project: ► http://www.patreon.com/oddlifecrafting (Get instant access to extra content) ► donating through PayPal using: oddlifecrafting@gmail.com ___________________________________________________ We are Duca and Roberta (and baby Oli), a Brazilian couple that during a sabbatical trip in 2016 decided to follow our dream. So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons. The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat 700km away from our hometown that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). On the season 4 we sailed for 2 years (exploring the Brazilian coast and part of the Caribbean), we sold our boat and we moved to Europe. The last season we are starting to build a new aluminum 43ft sailboat and a new life. We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams. We depart Taormina, Sicily after one night and sail to Marina di Reposto Porto D'Etna for a couple days of work from the marina. From he marina we have a stunning view of Mt Etna. While there we tour the beautiful city on the hill of Taormina and Nicole and her friends spend the day at a beach club while I repair the swim platform. An incredibly powerful gas spring came loose. I manage to re-extend this spring with dyneema and a winch and safely reattach it. We leave from the marina and head for mainland Italy in favorable winds and find that the new Hallberg Rassy hull form loves speed through a choppy seaway with an angle off the waves. Admittedly, I first discovered this in the Baltic but needed a bit of a reminder.

Today we finally take W. Grebe, our old wooden sailboat, out under sail for the very first time. We raise the main, test the foresail, get a visit from The Reluctant Adventurer, and—of course—make a few mistakes along the way, including a potentially large docking near-miss that taught us a lot about how this boat handles in weird conditions. Of course, because this is a first time for something important with the boat, we are joined by Rick and Anna @WhatsNext-acrc You know things are interesting when Rick is involved. This series documents the honest, real process of learning an unfamiliar boat, fixing what needs fixing, and getting her ready for winter cruising and a larger journey to Scotland and beyond.
